Location, props and costume

Doing film, we had to focus on location, props and costume to make our opening 2 minutes effective. All of these had to be suitable for the genre we were trying to create and realistic for our resources and ability.

Location: We wanted to film somewhere a bit dirty and grimey looking as when we did our research and textual analysis this is what the settings were like on the films that we looked at. It was also important that the audience felt it was realistic for the drama taking place.

Props: We did not use very many props during filming however we did have one major prop which was very effective and we hoped it would help to create the status of the character. This was the car that Bambi pulled up in. The 3 boys were just walking down the street and this can be seen to show that they are not of as high status as Bambi is.

Costume: We wanted the boys to dress how they normally would as afterall they are just normal teenage boys trying to make it big. However Bambi had a suit on again as before with the car to show the status he has and his importance. The cigar he had also showed this and added a bit of the original "gangster" image.
