Results of the questionnaire

We produced a questionnaire to find evidence that there was a need and market for our product. The results are as follows:

1) How regularly do you watch films?

Once a month: =0

Every couple of weeks: I= 1

Once a week: IIIIIII= 7

Every Weekend:=0

Every night: II=2

These results show us that people do still watch films regularly as seven of the people we asked which was the majority said that they watched them once a week.

2) What is your favourite film genre?

Horror:=0

Comedy: IIII=4

Sci-Fi:=0

Thriller: II=2

Romance:=0

Crime:=0

Gangster (crime/thriller): IIII=4

Other:=0

The results for this question shows that the film genres of Comedy, Thriller and Gangster (crime/thriller) were the favourties of the 10 people we asked. We tried to use this and therefore the opening 2 minutes we produced were of the Gangster genre which could be considered to have connections to the genre of thriller. We also feel that our opening sequence may also infact have some comedy elements to it.

3) What are you favourite films?

When asked this question we found that we got a range of answers from Harry Potter to mean girls. We also got the Godfather as a answer. This shows that the gangster films of this type are still popular and still popular amongst people of our generation even tho it was made in 1972, well before any of us were born!

4) What do you look for in a film?

Again we got a range of answers to this question as it was not mutlipul choice and gave the 10 people we asked the chance to write down their own opinions. We tried to use the answers we got from this and incorporate it into our film. We got answers such as comedy, entertainment and fun.

5) Would you watch a new gangster film?

YES:IIIIIII=7

NO:III=3

This showed us that yes people would be willing to watch our new film, and that it would not be a waste of time making it i.e. if no one was prepared to watch it.

6) Who is your favourite actor or actress?

Again we got a range of answers from this question. Some examples of the answers we got are; Will Smith, Simon Pegg, Hayden Patternire, Kate Winslet and Emma Watson. This question was simply to find out which actor or actresses people enjoyed watching and this then gave us an insight into the sort of films that were popular.

7) What ending do you prefer in your favourite film?

Happy ending:IIII=4

Cliff hanger:IIIIII=6

Sad ending:=0

Mystery:=0

Other:=0

These answers were interesting as it gave us some information as to how to end the first 2 minutes of our film. It was obvious as we are doing a film in the gangster genre that it was not going to have a happy fairytale ending and we wanted to make the first minutes end so that people wanted to watch more and find out what happens.

8) When as the last time you watched a film?

This question was intended to find out the popularity of films and if people still enjoyed watching films at home instead of just going to the cinema. We got answers such as last night, last week and a few weeks ago. All showing that yes films are still popular.

9) What was it?

We got a wide variety of films when we asked our 10 people this. From "The Little Mermaid" which was obviously from a girl to "Snatch" which was from a boy. This showed us as before that gangster (crime/thriller) films are still popular.

10) What is your favourtie gangster film?

We got films such as "The Godfather" and "Scarface" which are the more conventional classic gangster films. We also got films such as "Goodbye Charlie Bright" which are the types of gangster films that we were aiming to adhere to.
