The Business (2005)
Set in the Thatcher era with the cool sounds of the 80's, THE BUSINESS is an action packed gangster flick set in Spain's sun drenched Costa Del crime. Before he knows it Frankie's got more then he bargained for - he's one of Charlie's gang and slap bang in the middle of the heady world of organized crime.

The title credits' run with a voice over from Danny dyer who plays Frankie the way that the first thing he mentions is crime drugs and women sets the tone for the rest of the film .
The first shot is an establishing shot to help set the location Charlie and Frankie then run in and a two shot is used to show the relationship between the two characters . A close up on Charlie then switched to Frankie and the camera is obviously being used on a track . A wide two shot is used , then followed by another establishing shot a two shot of two little girls helps to show that there is some innocence within what looks like will be a violent film . And may also hint that before this they too used to be young and innocent but now they are getting in all kind of trouble
A long two shot helps the audience to take in the costumes and helps them to realize the era that the film is set in the bright colors against the beige of the buildings also make them look out of place and over the top .
. a close up on each of there faces with them looking distressed and anxious helps the audience to see there emotions which is ironic as usually in these situations people would look as if they are confident . Which helps the audience see that they are not in a sound state of mind and are very anxious and desperate .
close up on a man with a cigarette in his mouth close up on the two men looking distressed
. The camera is using the common formulae for conversations which is close up on main speaker P.O.V of speaker to see the reaction to what has been said the men look distressed and scared which is understandable as Charlie and Frankie are pointing guns at them there is then a close up of the gun in his hand there is then a wide medium close up the camera pans around to show the disarray and chaos that is going on in the room . The audience are giving a wide shot that encompasses all of the surrounding chaos . The camera the zooms back in on Frankie and back out for when Charlie hits the other man . The cuts in the film increase the pace as they are very quick and they help to build the tension and excitement . A close up on Frankie then the girl who is now on the floor shows franchise point of view .shot reverse shot is then used between Frankie and Charlie and the two men who are drugged up to the eyeballs and not capable of actually responding . Charlie then kicks the stereo and the music is stopped and his language which is filled with explicit is heard more clearly and the last sentence ‘tell me where the gear is or I swear I’ll fucking kill the lot of ya ‘, is followed by a shot sound and a black screen .
The song within the first two mins of the film is continuous and is the same tune playing in the house the words that they are saying are the same throughout but it is not until he kicks the cd player that you can hear clearly what he is saying this may signify that the situation and consequences of not answering Charlie or Frankie had not become clear to the other people until they realized that they were about to be shot . When the music stops the gun shot and black screen help to show that the place and time have changed there is then a continued voice over from Frankie which is then followed by an establishing shot of a grey sky over a tower block with a police siren which is a juxtaposition to the first establishing shot which showed a sunny climate with nice houses . The subtitles south London a few years earlier help the audience to know that it is a different time and what they had just seen happened after what they are about to see now .
Lock stock and two smoking barrels
The opening scene starts with a wide shot and the camera slowly zooms in on Bacon who is talking showing the audience that he is going to be a main character and it creates an interest . It then goes to a close up of him and a title slide runs while he is still talking then it goes back to him then goes to another title slide the shot of him also shows the other people in the shots pov as the audience is seeing him how they are seeing him . As his audience in the scene laugh at him we also relate with them and laugh at him aswell . A close up on eddie shows that he may also be one of the main charecters . The way in which the camera focus’s on bacon and then ed shows the audience that there may be a link between the two chareters .
