The Breeze - teaser trailer

Filming

we have Finally completed our filming, We filmed it in Theydon Bois in a house in which we used the kitchen, garden, corridor and living room. In this there are two characters which is the Home owner, and the killer. The plot of the trailer is to show the audience how the film is going to be, Its explains to the audience that the killer is obviously a lunatic with his mask, hat and ripped clothing, tries and sucedes to break into the house to kill the home owner. The home owner is made to look weak as we chose a smaller person who is young. This was put in to show that a parent or guardian has trusted him to be on his own.

Magazine Front Cover

the magazine front cover will feature a picture of the killer as the background of the cover. In this picture it will include the killers mask and also his killing weapon which is his knife.
The name of the Magazine will be Called Journal, the reason why its called this is because its quite a basic name and not over the top and its a name that can stick in peoples minds as its easy to remember.

Film Analysis

'The Strangers' is a film which we are using as a style model as such for our film. There are several clips in the trailer shown above which i believe are particularly eye catching.




This image at 0:49 is really effective. We see a middle age woman standing in her kitchen, typical conventional surroundings with a masked figure standing in the background. This is the fear factor. Its not so jumpy, its slow, subtle, and scary - perfect.



In this frame at 1:39 we see the three masked murderers and their two victims. This frame shows the intimidation factor which we wish to create with our killer.


This frame at 1:28 shows how sly the killer is. Silent as a mouse no body knows when he's around or where he's hiding. Again this is an aspect of the film which we are going to adapt and try to portray in our story

Logo Evolution

I typed in 'free logo design' on google and found a website (www.logoease.com) which enabled me to design the basic frame for our logo which will be displayed in our magazine cover and our poster design to promote both our film and our production company. I had to print screen the image and cut it from the print screen taken to a new Adobe Photoshop page. I went for a basic 3 eye catching design thats aesthetically pleasing to the audience and looks particually aproachable.

I went to www.dafont.com which is a website which i use for cool fonts. I also had to print
screen this image and cut it across to a new page on photoshop. I had to type Slappy magiC on one link and Productions on another page in order to fit it all in as shown in the pictures (left),

Costumes

We are going to dress the intruder in rugged all clothes covered in mud and blood. We are also going to be putting a hockey mask on him with blood on it. He's going to be dressed as a typical lunatic with the classic white long sleeved shirt with black trousers which are also going to be ripped and muddy and his weapon of choice is a Kitchen Knife.

As for the residents who already live in the house they will be dressed in comfortable wear and for the younger ones maybe pajamas. This is because were going to try and make it as realistic as possible because they obviously wouldn't be we wearing suits in doors at night.

Location

We first need to make an establishing shot, We are thinking of doing it in a foresty place looking at a old alone house in the distance. We are doing this because it shows the audience that the house is going to be alone and in the middle of nowhere, which is in a basic horror film.

Then from this it is going to be shot within the house and at one scene outside maybe going into a forest. Inside the house we will be using the front room which will have typical features e.g television, sofa, mirror e.t.c in this shot this will be where the owners children will be watching tele getting ready to go to bed where as they walk past you will be able to see the intruder entering. After this we will have a shot of the owner  brushing their teeth in the bathroom where the intruder appears from behind. The last location will be outside where the owner and family are running away from the intruder

Our Final Idea

We have decided to now change our idea completly along the same lines as our last one, we are still going to keep the idea of a woman and a child but this time put in a teenager as well which will be male. But instead of using burgulars we are going to have a lunatic escaped from an asylum. He is going to be known as the Hillswell Murderer and has now come back to take revenge on the house where he was caught by the police. We have various shots of him approaching the house in the day through the tree's and then for him to plan his attack at night. We will then have shots of him cutting the telephone lines so there is no way of the police being callled. Then when dark falls one of the family members forgets to shut the window on when he makes his pounce by getting into the house. As it is a big house the other family members get to hide from the killer. While the killer is present there will be various scenes in which he will try to kill off the family members. He will be masked and will Have a Machete or a Standard Kitchen Knife. The killer Will be Fully Clothed in Ragged clothes preferbly black clothing and his masked will be stained to show he's been around for some time.

Other Factors

As we was going to do in our first idea, we will still be continuing with a poster for the film as well as the magazine front cover. This time though we will be changing what is on the front cover whereas before we would put the main 5 characters with two at the front and the 3 behind, instead we are going to put two people looking around a door to the Killer's. Whereas on the magazine front cover were going to have one star in panic with other usual feature's on a film magazine.

we are going to be making a survey now to see whether changing idea has been better off. In the questionnaire we will be asking a small amount of questions based on our idea's and the type of film its going to be. For example one of the questions is going to be -

What Genre out of Horror and Action do you prefer?

With questions like this we can find out exactly what we want to find out. The data will be represented in a tally chart in which we will receive the answers ourself. At the end of the questionnaire we will ask a question in which is based on what they would like to see in our film, whether its action or horror based because even if it is action based we could work on the ideas and produce them which would fit in with the horror category. Once we have this obtained we will be producing story boards and mind maps of all our ideas and then again ask the same people on which idea they think is the best.

New idea's

As a joint decision we have decided to change the film genre to a horror/thriller, the reason why we have done this is because we feel that as horror is george's strongest point and thriller is mine we could put both our brains to a more efficent way of film making. So now our trailers is based on a family home in the middle of the country side leaving a window open a night in which two criminals break into their house and then the drama begins. As this happens a mum and her two children aged 10 and 6 accomponied by thier mother are alone for the weekend as thier father is on a business trip. As the two criminals enter the house the 3 remianing family members are locked into a room. In this the phones have been cut off and they have to try and survive after the crimnals are not only there to burgle the house.

Poster Research

Sin City is a groesome film which is set in an anime sort of way. Most scenes are in black and white with a lot of CGI. In this poster we see a character from the film. In a very skimpy outfit with a gun. This is a big contrast to the usual 'Bad Boys with guns' feel we get from action/thriller films. Sin City have been almost unconventional in changing the feel of films by making Women the feared characters and male's still dominant although they fall at the feet of the gorgeous women roles in the film.

Research into Posters

Film's use a variety of different methods to enforce popularity before their film is released. Advertising is the main way which the film is put across to the target audience. Trailers, Websites and Posters are made. Posters are over-all an aesthetically pleasing way in which you can portray your film the way that the audience wants to see it. The main thing with posters is that they can be put anywhere. Bus Stops, Telephone Booths, Walls, Train Stations, Even Advertised on websites and up for general sale. The posters can spark conversations all over the place and get people talking about your film. We feel that this is an effective way of advertising our film so we have chosen to make a poster about "Steel Games"
